Right on the heels of disappointment over the Formula 1 loss to Dubai comes this - the comedy duo of Marc-Antoine Audette and Sébastien Trudel, AKA the “Masked Avengers” have avenged thinking people at large of Sarah Palin’s daily assault on our senses.
And brilliantly so.
Merci!
A quick and dirty guide to the few insider jokes in the 6 minute skit (though most jokes can be enjoyed by anyone who has been personally insulted by Palin’s ridiculousness):
- The prime minister of Canada is Stephen Harper (and was just elected last week, as a matter of fact, something that has been reported by all major media networks, obviously, including the Daily Show and Bill Maher), not the singer Stef Carse.
- The Quebec premier is Jean Charest, not the radio personality Richard Sirois
- “bébés phoques” are baby seals
- The song that Carla Bruni supposedly wrote for Sarah is entitled “Rouge à Lèvres sur une cochonne” or “Lipstick on a Pig”, not Joe the Plumber.
- Johnny Hallyday is the French equivalent of Elvis, and not the foreign affairs minister of the Unites States.
Montreal - YOU ROCK!
